What’s New In Maya’s World

Hello everyone,
It’s been some time since I last entered an update. A lot has been going on in the world with this global pandemic affecting lives in ways we could not dream of. Having said that I hope that all is well with you and yours. And that you’re doing everything you should to keep yourself and those around you as safe as possible. The world is definitely changing at warp speed and it is difficult to tell at times whether or not were coming or going. But I hope that you have used this downtime to connect with people in your households and to connect with yourself. I myself have used this time to reevaluate the things that I allow to create stress in my life, understanding that it can all be taken away in the blink of an eye. Yet we survive. So how important are those things? I spent a lot of time in introspection. Knowing that if we don’t reevaluate ourselves, our purpose, our objectives in this life we cannot hope to make the world a better place and fulfill our destinies. I also spent this time finishing up my next book entitled The Colors of Time. It’s a collection of poems that were inspired by historical events. An epic journey through time from the beginning of time itself, whenever that was, to modern day historic events. Even if history is not your cup of tea, this book was written with you in mind. You only need appreciate the artistry of the poetic content. It is a book of poetry and not a history book. So when you read it understand that the poems are reflective of the inspirations gained from whatever aspect of the event that touched my soul at the time. Sprinkled within its pages are those ‘just because’ poems. Those poems that add to the flavor of the COLORS that are so reflective of all of my works. Having said that I just really hope that you can enjoy them all and more than that, find something within its pages that would speak to you. That would challenge you to be the best version of yourself.

On the lighter side of things I have started a children’s poetry book series. It is based around the adventures of a little three-year-old girl called Maya. Your kids would be introduced to the world of poetry as Maya takes these adventures with her family and the stories unfold. I’m having a lot of fun doing this project. What gives me most pleasure is when I actually have a kid read the book and they light up right before my eyes. I think you would enjoy reading these books to your kids and the kids around you. It is my heartfelt wish that you will.

Both The Colors of Time and Maya’s Adventure series will be published this summer. Or that’s the deadline at this time. Keep me in your prayers… LOL I need them.
Well that’s all for now so until next time keep your knees to the ground and your eyes to the sky. And if you have not yet read my first two books, The Colors of Me and The Colors of Me Too by Maya And Jello, check them out on Amazon today.

Published by MAYA AND JELLO

Maya and Jello was born and raised on the beautiful island of Trinidad, the sister island of Tobago in the West Indies. She migrated to the United States as a young teenager. Her main objective was to obtain a great education in the hopes of affording a better life for herself, her family, and to be a blessing to those around her. This quest led her to attain a Doctorate in medicine. But she never let go of her passion for writing poetry. Her works have been published in various school publications under various pen names. During medical school she wrote a segment in the College newspaper under the pen name Sparkie. The poems in this collection were written over a span of 30 years. She hopes that you enjoy reading them, as much as she enjoyed writing them for you.
